The Leura Gardens Festival is an event involving people from the Upper Blue Mountains and beyond. During the 9 days of the Festival, around 400 volunteers will sit at garden gates, checking and selling entry tickets. Others will be assisting at the Headquarters, at the Ticket Sales/Information stand near Leura Station and at Plant Sales, a mini nursery set up for the Festival.
Every Festival garden has a gate crew, minding the gate, issuing brochures or selling tickets, giving information, and generally making visitors welcome.
In addition, each year the Festival is managed by a dedicated committee of volunteers.
To run the 2017 Festival, Brooke Broughton was re-elected as the President and Sue de Brett as the Vice President. Philip Lee continues as Secretary and Leone Hurley as Treasurer. Other elected committee members are Glenn Anderson, Sue Harris, Richard Landon, John McGilvray, Brigitte Moseley, Janine Shoemark and Paul Sullivan.
